Services OfferedAll accommodations provided by OSD must be reasonable and academic in nature. To qualify, students must provide appropriate documentation that demonstrates a need for those services. Once documentation has been received, OSD will review and make recommendations. Next, the OSD staff and student will meet together to discuss the approved accommodations. Please review the various accommodations available and speak with an OSD staff member if you believe there are services that can help you. Accommodations are not limited to those described on this website. You are encouraged to seek creative solutions to your unique needs. However, OSD is available to brainstorm solutions with you. Remember, you may not qualify for all accommodations requested. Decisions are based on documentation provided and recommendations outlined by your physician. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you experience difficulty in acquiring or arranging accommodations or if the accommodation is not effective, it is your responsibility to seek assistance from OSD and/or your instructor. If we do not know there is a problem, we cannot help you find a solution. Grievance ProceduresThe College of Lake County complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Persons with disabilities who have complaints regarding campus accessibility, instructional accommodations, or other issues specifically related to ADA compliance, should contact the Director of the Office for Students with Disabilities. If not resolved, persons may then be directed to the Assistant Director of Human Resources/Affirmative Action Officer, and/or the Vice President for Student Development. |
