The Office for Students with Disabilities

It is your decision to utilize our services. Your needs may vary with each semester, depending upon the classes you take. Be sure to make an appointment to arrange accommodations before every semester. Your decision to pursue education beyond high school will be both challenging and rewarding. We look forward to providing you the most accessible college experience possible.

Our Mission

The Office for Students with Disabilities will:

  • Maintain a comprehensively accessible environment through the provision of reasonable accommodations and services.
  • Provide appropriate support based on each individual's documentation and circumstances.
  • Take all necessary steps to ensure confidentiality in all aspects of the student’s experience with OSD to include, but not limited to keeping disability records separate from academic records.
  • Encourage students to be self-advocates.
  • Keep the CLC community informed regarding the Office's policies and procedures and provide consultation as required.
  • Comply with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and other relevant legislation to promote access to College of Lake County programs.
  • Maintain a working relationship with professionals at CLC and in the community for the purpose of referrals.
