The CLEP Examinations are computer-based and cover material taught
in courses that most students take as requirements and/or electives in the first
two years of college.
The College of Lake County grants CLEP credit only to students enrolled
at CLC. Results of CLEP exams may also be sent for credit recognition to another
school where a student is enrolled.
CLEP tests are offered several times a month on an appointment basis through the
Testing Center at the Grayslake Campus. Call (847) 543-2076 or 543-2457 to schedule
an appointment. The fee is $58 per test - $48 is payable to CLEP at time of testing
by credit card (American Express, Visa, or MasterCard), check or money order. The
$12 administration fee is payable to CLC. An additional $5.00 processing fee is
required if a student changes the scheduled test date. Retests are available for CLEP Exams; however, a six month waiting period is required.
