The LTA Program currently offers a Certificate (32 hours) and the Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S., 60 hours). For each Certificate or A.A.S., the core of library classes is identical. The Certificate includes one elective. Certified Illinois teachers who wish to complete the Certificate to earn the Library Information Specialist Endorsement choose LTA 252 as their elective.

Illinois Laws have changed for teacher/librarians.

Illinois certified teachers who want to earn the Library Information Specialist endorsement can now take CLC courses to satifsy the educational requirements for that credential. CLC is currently exploring how the LTA Program can serve these students. A new class, Administration of the School Library Media Center, will be offered for the first time in summer 2008.
