Use the Library Catalog at Lakeshore Campus, Grayslake Campus, or from home to locate items in the library. To get to the library catalog go to the library website at http://library.clcillinois.edu and select what type of search you would like to do under “Browse.” You can also visit the library catalog directly at http://lrc.clcillinois.edu.

You can search the library catalog in several ways. Here are the main ways you will use:
  • To find items by an author, click on AUTHOR. (Author = writer of the book) Type in the author’s name: for example, Gilbert, Judy, to find items by that author.
  • To find a particular title, click on TITLE. (Title= name of the book or tape) Type in the title: for example, Crossroads Cafe, to find that title.
  • Usually, you will want items on a particular topic. For that, click on SUBJECT. Here are helpful topics, or subjects, for ESL students.
To find a list of books that are easier to read, sometimes called readers, use this subject:

    3. Click on the down arrow FORMAT.
    4. Choose AUDIOCASSETTE or AUDIO CD.
